Being born in Wales but growing up in Essex much of Dave’s earlier work reflects a certain rootlessness, expressing a desire to connect with a place by looking under the surface and focusing on the detail beneath. Recently however he has been working from a more expansive perspective, exploring a love of rural as well as urban landscape and the painterly quality that photography can bring to the medium. More than anything Dave is inspired by the fleeting everyday moments that are often taken for granted or overlooked.Dave is photographic artist and digital media practitioner. After finishing an MA in Interactive Media at the University of the West of England he undertook a Junior Fellowship in Media Practice specialising in mobile technology, and has subsequently worked as a visiting lecturer at UWE. Dave has exhibited his photographic work locally, experimenting with large format prints; acetate based installations and computer-based multimedia and is particularly interested in exploring collaborative and participatorary based projects. Although working digitally Dave avoids manipulation and enhancement in search of the authentic image. All images are available as sequenced open editions (10"x8").
